Ailey® II comes to the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre at Shenandoah University, March 8 at 8PM. Under the direction of artistic director and former Ailey dancer Sylvia Waters, Aiely II dance company features the contry's top emerging dance talent, under the auspicies of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb features more than 100 objects from the internationally renowned Egyptian collection of the British Museum, and is now on view through Mar 11 at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The South in Black and White: Photographs by Baldwin Lee opens at the Chrysler Museum of Art on Feb. 8 in the Frank Photography Galleries. Chrysler Museum Director William Hennessey is curator of this exhibition featuring Asian-American photographer, Baldwin Lee's documentation of African-American communities in the deep South.
