Ailey® II comes to the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre at Shenandoah University, March 8 at 8PM. Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb features more than 100 objects from the internationally renowned Egyptian collection of the British Museum, and is now on view through Mar 11 at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Here is your chance to explore the rituals of death and burial in ancient Egypt and uncover mysteries that have shrouded mummies for millennia. This exhibition, focuses on the life and death of Nesperennub, a temple priest who lived 3,000 years ago. It opens with a 3-D film*, which shows the virtual unwrapping of Nesperennub’s mummy using the most advanced scanning technology currently available. The South in Black and White: Photographs by Baldwin Lee opens at the Chrysler Museum of Art on Feb. 8 in the Frank Photography Galleries. Chrysler Museum Director William Hennessey is curator of this exhibition featuring Asian-American photographer, Baldwin Lee's documentation of African-American communities in the deep South.
